Internet Casino Sucker Wagers — Part II

  • Progressive side bets: Games such as Caribbean Stud Poker commonly contain one of these. You usually lay a bet (a dollar is the normal value) to try to win a side jackpot that could be upwards of twenty-five thousand dollars. Although big jackpots like these are particularly appealing, they’re also incredibly difficult to succeed. You would need to get a Royal Flush in order to win this wager. Also, picture this- you wager 20 hands and put the side wager every time. That’s $20 you should have used towards the real game bet in place of a sucker bet. Imagine what you could have been able to win at a wager with greater odds utilizing that twenty dollars.
  • Single number bets in Roulette: This is especially true for American Roulette. The reason? American Roulette has two 0’s on the wheel, as opposed to European Roulette, which has only one. This shifts the overall casino advantage from 2.63% with a single zero wheel to a whopping 5% in American. The individual number bet has only a one in thirty eight chance of winning, which are very long odds indeed. Bet on even-odd or black-red bets instead which have a much smaller house edge.
  • Keno: Any version of Keno, and regardless of how you wager on it, the casino advantage can be a huge 25%. Yes, that is not a error. Due to the large set of numbers you must pick, it’s not advisable to gamble on Keno very much. A few times for enjoyment, maybe. But don’t waste all your cash on it or you’ll quickly discover yourself beaten.
