Internet Casino Sucker Wagers — Part Two

  • Progressive side wagers: Games like Caribbean Stud Poker often have one of these. You typically place a wager (a dollar is the normal amt.) to try to win a side jackpot that could be upwards of $25,000. Although huge jackpots like these are particularly appealing, they are also particularly complicated to succeed. You would need to hit a Royal Flush in order to hit this bet. Also, imagine this- you play twenty hands and put the side wager each time. That is 20 dollars you should have used towards the actual game bet instead of a sucker bet. Picture what you could have been able to win at a bet with better odds using that twenty dollars.
  • Individual number bets in Roulette: This is particularly true for American Roulette. Why? American Roulette has 2 zeroes on the wheel, as opposed to European Roulette, which has only one. This takes the overall casino advantage from 2.63percent with a single zero wheel to a huge 5.26% in American. The single number bet has just a one in thirty eight chance of succeeding, which are very long odds indeed. Try even-odd or black-red bets alternately which have a much lower casino advantage.
  • Keno: Any version of Keno, and regardless of how you gamble on it, the casino advantage can be a huge 25%. Yes, that isn’t a typo. Because of the huge set of numbers you have to select, it’s not advisable to wager on Keno to often. A few times for enjoyment, maybe. But don’t spend all your money on it or you’ll quickly discover yourself bankrupt.
